We are Thankful ….

My son has this little prayer they say at his Montessori School as “thanks” before they eat. It is so simple, but, so true…

We are thankful for the food before us

We are thankful for the friends beside us

We are thankful for the love among us

We are thankful

My husband got this mat for Jonah.  It’s so awesome.  The specific one is Baby Einstein.  I think they are all pretty cool.  If you get one, just be sure its safe. ;-)

It’s A Mans World !!! ( hand me my soap box )

When I was pregnant with Jonah, I made it clear to my booking agency that I wanted to spend 2012 on the ground, in the bus.  I didn’t want to fly an infant and a 3 year old all over the country.  My request apparently fell on deaf ears.  I’m about to log more flight miles than Neil Armstrong. (Unless they fix this HORRIFIC routing).

Last week I was in a conversation with a guy in the industry who tried to explain to me that having my kids on the road with me was more of a luxury than a necessity.  I almost came out of my chair.  Really ?  a Luxury ?  I couldn’t help myself by saying “Sure, it’s easy for a man to leave their children at home with their mother.  Mom, the center of their  universe.  But, what about if their Mom travels ? Then what ? should the child be forced to be separated from their mother because the guy booking the shows doesn’t really see any importance of having the kids ‘along for the ride’ ?”

Needless to say.  Not all of my business decisions are easy.  There are times when my family HAS to take priority over work.  The only thing an agent sees  is a piece of paper, NOT a person.  My children have the security and stability of having both me and their father in their lives EVERYDAY.  THAT is how we choose to raise our kids.  It is our choice.  Not Jerry McGuires.   ugh!

Jonah is now 3 months old.  My husband went out today and got him a “Bumbo baby seat”.    The baby loves to sit up and our arms get tired after holding him all day.  This gives him some independence.  In this, he can sit up on his own.  (If you get one, always use it on the floor.  Don’t put it on a table or chair)

Propping the Bottle ? GUILTY !!!

I’m sorry.  But, YES!!!  I do it. Not very often.  There are those few times when the baby is hungry and the rest of the house is in an uproar, that, I have the need to prop the bottle.   Jonah is just 12 weeks old and still can’t hold the bottle himself.  So I fold his blanket just right so I can rest the bottle on it and he gets fed.

I’m not sure why, but, when I do this I always feel so guilty and rush back to him as soon as possible.  However, I AM guilty of bottle propping.  (occasionally)
